Set Up Tracking Numbers

Purchase Twilio numbers and assign them to campaigns for call tracking.

Tracking numbers are the phone numbers callers dial to reach your campaigns. Each tracking number is mapped to a single campaign, so SureConnect knows which campaign to route the call to and which attribution data to capture.

Before you start

  • Your Twilio account must be connected in Settings.
  • You need at least one campaign created.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open your campaign

Go to Campaigns and click the campaign you want to add a tracking number to.

  2. 2

    Scroll to Tracking Numbers

In the campaign detail page, find the Tracking Numbers section.

  3. 3

    Add a tracking number

Click Add Tracking Number. You will see a list of phone numbers available in your Twilio account. Select one and click Add.

  4. 4

    Webhook auto-configuration

SureConnect automatically configures the Twilio webhook URLs on the phone number. You do not need to manually set any Voice URLs in the Twilio console.

You can also purchase new phone numbers directly from the Settings page under the Twilio section. Search by area code or choose a toll-free number.

Multiple tracking numbers per campaign

You can assign multiple tracking numbers to the same campaign. This is useful when you run ads across different channels (Google, Meta, direct mail) and want a unique number per channel to track which source drives each call.

Removing a tracking number

To remove a tracking number from a campaign, click the Remove button next to the number in the Tracking Numbers section. The number returns to your available pool and can be reassigned to another campaign.

Removing a tracking number does not release or delete it from your Twilio account. The number remains in Twilio and you will continue to be billed by Twilio for it. To fully release a number, manage it in the Twilio console.
